Story

Barcelona
Searching the world for sacred places coaxes them from within.
One day, we heard the call—a quiet nudge to make a personal journey in search of “the authentic Self.” After years of collecting activities and personalities that were matched to the needs of the outside world, we had reached a point where it was difficult to know who we genuinely were, who we wanted to be, and, most important, our true desires and passions. We arrived at this crossroad in our middle years. Together but individually, we returned to the places where we could last remember having known who we were. Our journeys led us to sites of creativity and freedom in Florence and Barcelona.

Spires Soar

The pilgrimage to Barcelona gave us a symbol for our search. Of course, our lost Selves were with us all the while, reflected in the song, in the phrase “I’m taking you there with me.” We vowed to hold our true identity, freshly rediscovered, to hold it close and not let it go.  The “window at dawn” refers to the special moment when we find what we are searching for: an awakening, a fresh perspective. This song holds great significance and meaning for us. It speaks of the time when we worked independently to build authenticity and a strong individual foundation, from which we could build a powerful new partnership.
