Footsteps Previous Story
We overcome our fears when we stand up and face them.
I awake in the night—what was that sound? Shattering glass, a lamp falling from the table, an intruder’s clumsy stumble? A creak from the staircase causes me to slip cautiously out of bed and scan the hall in silence. Night after night, nothing found. My dreams have been broken into, scattered again by the imaginary faceless thief. My private places are no longer my own; there is always a disruption.

Days become cluttered with demands that keep me from my work, my passion—ever-present footsteps sneaking up on me, and relentless diversions.
While writing our music, we realized how many “busy” things we do, rather than what truly engages our passion. Why do we find reasons for not doing what we love? From fear? Insecurity? Expectations? All of these, probably. The safety-seeking urge is self-sabotage. Distractions bind us to safely familiar routines, comfort zones. Our intentions are good. Our talk is full of details and drama. Yet action can elude us. We create distractions and commitments that we blame for our inactivity. We procrastinate, hesitate, and delay. Day after day, we un-knowingly stand in our own way.
