Pawing through the closet for a shirt, Emerson found one that our son had left behind. It fit him perfectly, and he discovered that whenever he wore it, he felt emotionally connected to Aaron. Such feelings of abundance give us power, and we can always find them. They wait with enduring patience to be picked up and noticed. How effortlessly we employ objects and symbols, to influence ourselves and others, perhaps for generations to come. When we feel inspired, the quality of our lives changes dramatically. How we feel becomes visible in what we create. Thus whole days can become infused with fresh energy and excitement.



What are the sources of this new energy and inspiration? The sources appear to surround us. Perhaps inspiration arrives through special people, places, and things. Sometimes energy is held latent in stories, music, nature, and in ordinary things. Our attention shifts slightly, and we are suddenly more sensitive to these points of inspiration. We realize that in redesigning our lives, we can increase the odds of finding those moments of spark. And by resolving to eliminate that which depletes us, we can create a space that invites creativity. Our daily routine changes, and the quality of our lives improves, we hope forever. We realize how easy it can be, to ignite the creative fires within, and transfer energy between us through focus and intention. Wearing Aaron’s shirt brought warm memories, and also an infusion of creativity and energy.
