Jumble of Fences Previous Story
If we want different answers we must ask new questions.
The baseball crashed through the window leaving shards of shattered glass throughout the room, coming to rest right in the middle of the debris on the kitchen table. Growing up in the back yards of Middle America, we played hard and sometimes suffered the consequences. It was a time of lessons learned and of gaining accountability…in most cases.

Off on our own adventure as adults, we found the years from 2000-2004 to be particularly difficult. As we searched for our own personal accountabilities, and possibilities, we observed ourselves living in a world, heading off in a different direction. We watched the political posturing, misinformation, tragedies, questionable motives, the hurt and anger that seemed to be pervasive. Jumble of Fences is an expression of our frustration with a world that seems to have difficulty mustering the necessary trust and accountability to live as a global community. Unfortunately, in the confusion of the many fences separating our yards, it is often easier to walk away, or shift the blame, rather than take responsibility for actions. We asked ourselves what was really happening in our complex maze of global backyards?
We became disillusioned and confused. As we searched for personal congruence and an equal honest relationship, we found ourselves in a world of significant contradiction. We felt sadness and disappointment in the values on which we collectively failed to act. As we struggled with a way to reconcile this paradox, we repeatedly came up with the same answer. There is always and only one place to ever begin—in our own back yard, fully aware of the impact of our actions.
