Lovers' Leap Previous Story
Our perspectives can change dramatically, depending on how much comfort we require.
We stand together on the brink of a canyon. There is an incredible tension when standing on that brink, on the edge of a life-changing decision. Gazing out across the vast landscape, we shake with both excitement and fear as we consider what is about to happen. Suddenly, however, there comes a time to act, to jump, to trust, knowing and accepting that there are no guarantees. Yet, despite an inner knowing, we still hesitate out of a stilted habitual reluctance. There is an abiding, protecting voice within that constantly warns us of the dangers, and coaxes us into pausing, thinking, analyzing….always eventually not trusting ourselves or the abundance of the universe.

If we allow ourselves to live with “what might have been” we have already surrendered hope. But, the true lover of life will never surrender something as beautiful and compelling as hope. We have come to understand that jumping isn’t a single, isolated act, finished, and final. Instead, it is an ongoing way of living fully. Taking each others hand, and holding on for life, we took one of those inspired leaps of faith on Septemeber 28th, 1999 and have yet to land.
