My Dream Previous Story
All dreams must be placed in a self-addressed envelope and sent into the future.
Our hopes and dreams remain hidden, tucked safely, year after long year, in the corners of the attic and the shadowy recesses of the basement. We guard them like silent sentries at the door. Are we uncertain that they can become real? Are we afraid that if we act upon them, we will have nothing left to dream about? What if we try and fail? These thoughts become a constant whispered conversation.
A time comes when we can no longer stuff our dreams away in the attic and basement. The forgotten dreams feel at first like plain, common dissatisfactions: a nagging feeling that something’s wrong, or missing. But as we listen closely, we begin to understand that the whispers are our own voices, calling.
This song speaks of the adventure of unpacking lost passions and acting upon them. Dreams and visions merge into actions that are concrete, risky, courageous, and bold. The pursuit becomes a deeply spiritual act, a ritual of self-respect. We find ourselves being led by a common language of the heart, on a journey toward authenticity.
