Narrow Ledge Previous Story
We summon courage to finally step from our narrow ledge.
Emerson was depressed, a slump that escalated to the point where he could no longer deal with it alone—he urgently needed help.
There are times in all of our lives when we feel desperate. Each person’s situation is different, naturally—some are tragic, and incredibly painful. But no matter the situation, while it’s occurring it becomes an obstacle lodged squarely in the road, preventing you from seeing past it to a healthy, satisfying life.

We feel that our world is “on fire” and we must jump to safety. We stand on the ledge, teetering high above the pavement with just one decision to make: when to jump. Such moments bring friends and family into clearer focus. We realize that there is no way past the obstacle except with the help of another. And this time we must make the first move.
One small step and we find ourselves hurtling toward earth, only to be caught in the capable hands of those who care. It is through such acts of amazing courage and compassion that we pull through, and realize there are few precious things in this life that we do alone. We live healthy and happy lives by the grace of those who help us help ourselves.
