Something More Previous Story
Rare is the heart without yearning.
Another uninspiring meal. Another hotel room. Another night alone.
It’s become all too much the norm—the businessperson, getting ahead, going through the motions, barely self-observant, filling each day with activities aimed toward someday-success. We are paid in congratulations, impressive salaries and perks, realizing the American Dream.
Another uninspiring meal. Another hotel room. Another night alone.

In the flicker of cable TV or hiding in a stack of papers we find ourselves. There’s a sense of something missing. A nagging restlessness. Reflected in the mirror on the door, we see success by someone’s standards, but perhaps not our own. Does this feel like success? And yet we continue to cultivate the attractions of a lifestyle of illusions. Surely success is almost within our grasp, if we simply stay the course.
And yet.
Why is there this nagging feeling that there must be more?

A car takes me where I’m needed
