Hungry Again

Hungry-LacingNo matter how much time goes by, we never seem to run out of things to do and projects to expend our energy on. In so many ways, we are insatiable. As consumers, we will never have everything we think we need—there is one more thing, no matter how conscientious or frugal we may be. It’s very much like eating—absolutely stuffed, yet lo and behold, we become hungry again.

It’s the human condition, and the very nature of this incredible universe. Everything is in constant motion, alive, ever changing and altering our very environment as we breathe and move. We must continue to create and interact every minute of every day. There is an underlying restless energy within each of us—the unmistakable creative process of life itself!

Lyrics

The taste of salt remains
On my lips, in my mouth
Yet my tears can’t fill up
The empty places Inside of me
Maybe they soak up
What was there before they fell
So I find once more
That I’m hungry again

My cup was once half full
Then I noticed a break
Where the water leaked through
And slowly dripped out onto the floor
Till not even a single drop
Was left inside
So I see once more
That it’s empty again

We’re at the table
A feast for everyone
Old worries left by the door
Not a single one
Seemed to make it through
All were left outside
It was just my friends and I

Then to my dismay
Something made it through
Took away the mood
From my friends and me

The taste of salt returns
To my lips, in my mouth
Again and again I find
Those places Inside of me
Relentlessly begging to be satisfied
When I find once more
That I’m lonely again

Even though there’s always enough
I’m empty again
Will there ever come a time
I’m not hungry again
