This album is about the peace that always follows life’s turmoil, indecision, anxiety and catastrophes. Whether a deeply held personal trauma or the destruction from a global pandemic, peace and quiet are sure to follow—eventually. The music and stories included here have been written over a three-year period from 2017 – 2020. In that time, both our individual and collective lives have been challenged beyond our wildest imaginations, yet blessed beyond our most fervent dreams.
The title song in this collection was finished on June 15, 2020. In the midst of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic; the seemingly endless political upheaval and the painful reminder of systemic racism, we felt a need to create a “lullaby”—an offering to a seriously wounded world needing a moment of soothing quiet. Out of the most dire tragedies, we will once again emerge stronger and wiser. We offer this music as a gentle lullaby of renewal, as we prepare ourselves for a brighter, more compassionate tomorrow.
These songs and stories speak to some of our own personal challenges, and blessings along the way. Perhaps they can help you reflect on some of your own.
