Where do YOU find solace and peace?

In our current world of social media, lightning-fast connections, and the compression of everyday life, where is the silence? Do you meditate? Unplug? Hike? Where is YOUR quiet place?

Every day we are bombarded with the latest news (often bad, often disturbing) that offers to help keep us informed. But, exactly how informed must we be when it feels as though the information is jarring? Surely we have no interest in NOT being kept abreast, but how much is too much? Today’s world is blanketed with Covid-19 updates, featuring new cases and deaths. The political world is more volatile than we’ve ever experienced. Civil unrest is erupting again in ways that we haven’t seen since the 1960s. Racism. Inequality, Climate change and more. Oh, where to begin?

We feel that the human spirit isn’t meant for constant siege. We must find respite. We must create balance. To  persevere we must embrace an unknown and seemingly fragile future. With the pandemic in full swing, how do we escape when we are told to “stay home,” observe “social distancing,” and wear face coverings when we do venture out?

For us, we find comfort in music.

We wrote this song as a lullaby—to lull ourselves into a serene space, if only temporarily. We feel the need to close each day with something soothing, something to calm frazzled nerves and agitated thoughts. The swaying rhythm and the reassuring words give us hope and the possibility to face tomorrow. When the new day arrives we will be refreshed, yet braced, for whatever arrives—fully aware that at the end of every trying day, or extended period of challenge—once again, Quiet Comes Along.
