Swinging Statues is about “Engaging the Dream.” After creating a shared vision and identifying common inspiring activities, we were excited and ready for the unfolding adventure. We felt alive with enthusiasm and possibility. No longer did we find ourselves falling into shadowy places within or wondering about our direction. Instead, we found clarity and strength to move beyond earlier imprecise notions, creating firm plans, and solid actions.
Dedication
This musical story is dedicated to our brothers and sisters. Michael, Sue, Jennifer, and Ken influenced us and shared untold hours of play, conversation and ordinary daily life as we grew up together in the Midwest. From “digging to China,” to “dress-up,” to sibling rivalries and more, they were there, as role models and willing partners in our ever-changing dramas. They have witnessed our most vulnerable moments and shared our times of triumph. All the while, they were simply being our older brothers and sisters, roles that come without instructions. To them we dedicate this labor of love and acknowledge their active participation with us in this engaging game of life—”Swinging Statues.”
