Silent Messages

Silent-LacingTo make a clean break from our previous lifestyle, we began reading a number of books about intuition and life lived in the spiritual realm. Conversations with our friend Zia were also leading us further into that way of thinking/being. We felt like we had become so ingrained in the monotonous realities of work life, that we needed a radically new perspective. We were ready to discover magic once again.

So in keeping with that notion, we began writing and talking routinely about our dreams, watching for synchronicity, observing curious patterns and picking up on signs that would otherwise not have been noticed. It was an engaging time of discovery. We not only were open to seeing those connections, but we were willing to take action based on instinct and intuition, which took a great deal of trust and courage for us.

The music for this song was written in Barcelona, while exploring the possibilities of the Colonia Güell project. Looking back now, the time was very romantic and somewhat eerie, as we explored sounds that corresponded to the mystical process of following signs and intuition. It was a wonderful experience that undoubtedly changed our lives.

Lyrics

This feels familiar
Like I’ve been here before
I know the way, I sense an image
Some random memory
From far away, these frozen moments start to flow
Releasing secrets that I know
Some other place
Some other timeI know the way
Careful yet unafraid
Silence is where I find
Messages in my mind

A haunting echo
A song sung to myself
I hear the sound

I am a stranger
And yet my name is known
I am at home

Imagination takes a breath
Suspending hours and I am left
Some other place
Some other time

I hear the sound
Quietly drifting down
Silence is where I find
Messages in my mind
