Toward the Light

This drawing is about following the sun. We are made of energy and the sun represents 70% of everything we get from the universe. More simply put, we are Light. Like sunflowers, we turn instinctively toward the source of that which we are.

Thread of Life

This story is about connections. The Ancient Greeks were the first to use the term “Thread of Life,” since they believed we are all woven together into one continuous fabric. Their idea is as true today as it was centuries ago as we see it playing out in our everyday lives.

Something Out of Nothing

This drawing is about creativity. In our hands, we hold the power and the spark to create something out of nothing. It happens every day in a flash of brilliance.

Backyard Tent

This drawing is about your special refuge. There are places where we go for silent reflection. They can be as simple as a tattered backyard tent or as ornate and complex as a famous cathedral. The amazing thing is that all spaces work equally well, and the choice is yours alone. .

Finish Line

This drawing is about signposts along the way. We choose a destination and then think of our arrival as the completion. However, from a distant view, we imagine that birds sit on lines,  watching our broader life’s journey unfold where there are no interim destinations, as they are merely signposts along the Great Way.

Dear Dad

This drawing is about a special story of me and you. The story of a father and daughter is singular—never to be seen again and full of promise. In this hand-made valentine we see the essence of the relationship expressed so perfectly, “big tall daddy, I love you.” That says it all.

Say When

This story is about negotiations. Our days are full of unseen deals being made without even realizing it. Agreements are struck, not with a signed contract, but rather with a smile, wink, pat on the shoulder, high five or simply body language. We seal the deal with those timeless underlying qualities of kindness, respect and trust.

The Cyclone

This story is about a sense of adventure. Maintaining an adventurous spirit as adults at any age is a tricky proposition. However, children understand that unyielding spirit. We can learn their simple technique by practicing that often heard phrase, “just one more time . . . pleeease!

Sidetracked

This drawing is about losing track of things. It’s easy to get distracted or confused when juggling too many things. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Momentarily losing our focus is just a signal to slow down, because when we don’t, we end up somewhere we don’t want to be. Not cool.

Here to Stay

This drawing is about acceptance. When things aren’t working well, there’s such a strong urge to just stop? Move on? Give up? Commitments are easy to make but hard to keep. Byron Katie urges us to accept what is and soon enough we’ll be singing a different tune. Recommit to stay and creative solutions begin opening up.
