A life full of surprises is more likely when we invite the unexpected.
What would happen if we stopped trying to control our lives and embraced spontaneity?
Disruptions are as inevitable as dawn, no matter how hard we work to bring order to our lives. In a world supposedly ruled by rigid laws, we are given endless chances to escape from dull routine. Why not take mischievous delight in exploring the hidden passages?
A yearning for spontaneity chips away at our careful planfulness. Serendipity whisks us on delightful side-trips. Mysterious synchronizations leave us breathless and amazed.

After months of passively noting these playful turns, we challenged ourselves to loosen our grip on plans and expectations. We would be more open to life, to its natural flow and coincidences.
We began with small steps. We watched for sensations of being fully immersed in the moment. We listened for the silent spaces where words end and images and ideas continue to flow. We placed ourselves in situations that held a promise of the unexpected.
Feeling a little less comfortable and a bit on edge, we surrendered and opened ourselves to a “life of loopholes” enjoying the inevitable—life rarely according to plan!
